Best of the Blogs

Conservators are increasingly spreading the word about their work and providing updates on their project using the blogosphere. You might like to look at some of the blogs that feature projects that are currently being funded by NMCT, or have been supported in the past,  such as:

Derbyshire Record Office: Mining the Archives - a project to conserve the archives of the county's lead-mining industry.

Warwickshire Record Office: Boater and Bright Sparks - the conservation of the archive of the Willans and Robinson engineering firm.

University of Glasgow: Conservation of the William Simons & Co. ship plans - from the long established Clydeside ship building firm.

Wolverhampton Archives and Local Studies: Taking Account of our past - the conservation of the Smith Son and Wilkie Chartered Accountants collection.

Cornwall Record Office: Conservation of Cornish language manuscripts - the blog by PZ Conservation who undertook the work.

Blogs are a great way to give the public access to the conservation process and thus a greater understanding of what is involved in preserving our past.
