Welcome..
..to the website of the National Manuscripts Conservation Trust (NMCT). Our aim is to help preserve manuscripts of historical or educational value by awarding grants for their conservation.
Since the Trust was founded in 1990 it has awarded grants of nearly £2m. These grants have enabled the conservation of hundreds of musical, literary, architectural and other vital historical documents that would otherwise have been lost or faced an uncertain future. Our grants help to make previously inaccessible manuscripts available for study and research.
This site provides some background to the work and role of the NMCT as well as giving examples of projects that the Trust has grant-aided. You can find out whether your project is eligible in Applying to Us, where you can also find the downloadable application form.
