New Trustees join NMCT board

Dr Norman James and Caroline Checkley-Scott have joined NMCT as Trustees.

Norman has provided advice to NMCT for two decades, his advice along with that of his curatorial and conservation colleagues at The National Archives, has informed all decisions on grant applications. Norman has also made many visits to NMCT applicants providing advice on strategy and development. Following Norman's retirement from The National Archives, he has accepted an invitation to become a Trustee in his own right.

Caroline is a highly experienced and nationally respected conservator.  She is currently Collection Care Manager at the University of Manchester Library, also co-managing the Centre of Heritage Imaging and Collection Care(CHICC). She teaches conservation and book history both nationally and internationally and has previously held posts at both the British Library and Wellcome Library.

Lord Egremont, Chairman of the NMCT, said: "I am delighted that Norman and Caroline have joined us as Trustees.  Norman's advice has been invaluable over many years and it is splendid that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience.  Caroline is the first conservator to join the NMCT board and her expert input will considerably enhance our consideration of applications."
