2021 Annual Report

Read all about the grants awarded by NMCT in 2021 in our latest annual report.  The report also includes some short case studies on projects that we have supported in the past and the many benefits that have resulted from them.

In 2021, despite the continued impact of the pandemic, NMCT awarded grants for manuscript conservation that enabled projects across the UK - from Stornoway to Dorset - to go ahead.

Among the collections being conserved thanks to our 2021 grants are:

• Minute Book of the Haddington Cordiners 1610-1702 (East Lothian Archives);
• Antiquarian Correspondence to William Cunnington I, 1799-1810 (Wiltshire Museum);
• Manuscripts relating to the submarine HMS Thetis, which was lost with all hands during her sea trial in 1939 (Holyhead Maritime Museum);
• Minute books of the Barra School Board (Tasglann nan Eilean (Hebridean Archive Service), Stornoway);
• The accounts of the Shuttleworth family of Gawthorpe Hall, Lancashire, 1582-1621 (Lancashire Archives);
• Plans of the Hafod-Morfa copperworks, 19th century (University of Swansea).
