Care and Conservation of Manuscripts

The 16th seminar on the Care and Conservation of Manuscripts will take place at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Humanities 13 - 15 April 2016.

This interdiscplinary seminar brings together conservators, librarians, archivists, scholars, curators and others who work with manuscripts and early printed books in any capacity. The programme for CC16 includes:

Michaelle Biddle: Conserving Africa’s Islamic manuscript heritage

Abigail Quandt: The purple codices: A report on current and future research and conservation treatment projects
Robert Fuchs: Of evil demons and wicked students: Choral books of the Naumburg Cathedral

Christina Duffy, Paul Garside, Gavin Moorhead and Cordelia Rogerson: Imaging Magna Carta: Incorporating new technologies into old workflows

Whilst registration for the conference is closed, those who are not able to attend might like to look at the programme, which includes abstracts of the papers and posters presented at the conference. 

The proceedings from the 15th seminar will be published in April 2016, and earlier volumes of the Proceedings can be ordered from the publisher Museum Tusculanum Press.
