New Chairman for NMCT

We are delighted to announced that Professor David McKitterick has been elected Chairman of NMCT.  David succeeds Lord Egremont, who was an outstanding chairman of NMCT for over 20 years.

Professor McKitterick is Emeritus Honorary Professor of Historical Bibliography, Trinity College, Cambridge Librarian and Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.

He worked at the Cambridge University Library in 1969-70 and from 1971 to 1986; he was a Fellow of Darwin College, Cambridge, from 1978 to 1986. He was appointed Librarian and Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1986, from which he retired in 2016. He is the author of various works on bibliography and library history, including a history of Cambridge University Library in the 18th and 19th centuries.

David was elected at the end of the June meeting of the Trustees of NMCT after fellow Trustees paid warm tribute to the huge contribution that Max Egremont has made to the charity over two decades.
