Nell Hoare, who administers NMCT, will be at a stand in the Information Village at the Archives and Records Association's Conference, Global Futures, on 1st September. If you are attending and want to talk about a possible grant application do come and chat to Nell. She will also be representing the Friends of the National Libraries, which awards acquisition grants to national and regional libraries and archives.

The 16th seminar on the Care and Conservation of Manuscripts will take place at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Humanities 13 - 15 April 2016.

In 2012 the NMCT Trustees awarded a grant, which was generously supported by the Pilgrim Trust, to Norfolk Record Office for the conservation of the Aylsham Lancaster Manor Court Roll.
Fundraising for Archives, a project funded by HLF, is offering a two-year programme for the UK archives sector to improve fundraising knowledge, skills and capacity. Giving Value will offer training, mentoring, online resources, webinars and more.
The Trustees of NMCT met in early December and, as usual, considered applications for the conservatin of a huge variety of collections including police archives, family and estate collections, company archives - including the pre-emintent Minton Archive - and the Diocese of London Unfit Consistory Court Books before 1600. Trustees awarded a total of over £130,000 in grants towards projects that have a total value of just under £300,000.
The next deadline for the submission of applications is 1st October 2015 and the results will be announced in early December. If you want to plan ahead, the deadline after that is 1st April 2016.
This autumn, The Islamic Manuscript Association, in partnership with the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI), will hold the first in a series of intensive short courses on cultural property protection (CPP) in Whitehall, London from 5 to 7 October 2015.
